FINALLY!!!!!....

Well hello everyone,
I (ann) am going to attempt to update the last two months or so. You probably will already know a lot of this stuff but at least I am blogging again!!! and will know longer feel the guilt and loss of many hours of sleep worrying about this blogging thing..HA! HA!! :-)
Where to begin.. the last two months have actually been quite busy for our little family. Work for mike has been going very well but also very busy, he still really likes his job and actually has been given a great opportunity within UHB. His boss approached him about renewing his contractors license and getting paid to do a lot of the finished carpentry on there homes that they build and he would get paid however much he charges them along with his regular salary as a superintendent overseeing the constuction of the homes. He has just started doing this the last month and has found that he really likes to do more hands on aspect of these homes, it is busier for him but he is doing a great job and it is a good opportunity to branch out in the construction field. Mike has also been excited because he finally got a four wheeler of his own..we actually did not have to even buy it. A guy that wants Mike to hang some doors in his new home gave him the four wheeler as a payment (a perk of construction side jobs..I guess) Mike was thrilled about it..he also had to buy the girls a little four wheeler (with cute pink helmets of course) for them to ride when we go out and ride ours..and the girls love it. Sydney is the only one that drives it but she loves it and ashley enjoys riding behind while garrett looks on screaming with excitement. So when you all come out this summer we will have to take them out and ride them. He also relished in taking the girls to the Monster Truck rally a few saturdays ago..the girls absolutely loved it!! (mullets and all)
I have just been really busy with the kids..It is amazing how much busier it has gotten since garrett has gotten older and busier himself. Young Womans has been keeping me busy but I really love the calling and enjoy working in that organization. I wish that I had some great stories to tell that I have been doing but I cannot think of anything at the moment. I did go down to St. George this last weekend with mom (marisa, lindsey, amy) you were missed. But we had a good time going to the home show and shopping, seeing movies and just hanging out without having to load and unload kids from the car.
Sydney is having a great time in school. She is getting so big and is so cute and fun. When I went to her parent teacher conference her teacher said she is one of the top students and is reading well and is liked by everybody. She will turn 7 next saturday which I cannot believe.
Ashley is enjoying preschool and dance and playing with her friend brielle. She is so funny and loves to tell it like it is and will say whatever comes to her head..Out of the mouth of babes..I will have to start writing things down and put them on the blog because I am laughing at least once a day at something she has said.
Garrett is 18 months now and we are so glad to see him go to nursery (just so we can actually go to sunday school) he is starting to talk so much and is sooo happy all the time and he loves to see grandma and grandpa a.k.a mom and dad. He saids nydney and ashey and everytime sydney goes to school he has to go to the door and give her a kiss and say bye, 3 or 4 times.
Well I am going to sign off of this blog..and next time I will get some new pictures up so that you can see the kids ( when we post pictures on our blog they don't go where we want them to) so we will be fixing it soon!!!

Call Ripley's..we have a new blog!!!!

Well hello everyone
I am going to hurry and try and give you an update of the last month or so..sorry if it rambles but I am going to try to remember everything that has been going on with us.
First of all, at the end of last month, as you all know we went to california to visit Nate, Amy and kids in sunny california. We first went to disneyland and celebrated Ashley's birthday in Disneyland at goofy's kitchen on October 25th. That was a lot of fun and ashley really liked seeing the two princesses that showed up for the dinner (snow white and Jasmin) she was a little bit reluctant about the other characters (goofy, pluto, etc..) and hid under the table a few times when they came around...she did start to warm up and enjoyed them all afterall. It was fun to have mom there with us and Ashley was so glad she was there to celebrate her 4th b-day. Dad came wednesday night and then we all went to disneyland on thursday and that was another fun-filled day. Friday we made our way down to Nate's house and it was nice to see him, Amy, the boys and cute Elizabeth and nice to see Amys parents..We had a nice time going to there trunk or treat party that night with there ward. The kids had such a fun time getting candy and playing with their cousins. Saturday we got pizza and went to a nice park close to their home and the kids played and we visited.
Sunday was the blessing of Elizabeth and Nate did a nice job, it was nice to be at church with them and the luncheon afterwards was delicious. We left that day and stayed over in St. George and arrived home on Monday.
Tuesday was Halloween and Sydney's school had a parade that I was able to go and see her in her halloween costume walking around all the classrooms and parents. That night we went to another trunk or treat at Mike's parents ward and the kids got more candy.
October was a busy month with just random things going on for Mike and I and the kids.
This last month was another busy month..I just did mom stuff and was busy preparing for our Young Women and excellence that we just got done with last Wednesday night..it was a nice night and I am glad that all the preperation paid off. It was fun to have Brandon and Lindsey come over and hot- tub with us ( you are all invited when you come out and stay to hot-tub) We had a nice visit with them and enjoy hanging out with them.
Thanksgiving was nice, We had it at our home with Mike's family..it was a nice day we ate, played games and just visited. Friday Mike had time off and we put up christmas and just hung out as a family.
This last weekend we went up to the Festival of Trees because Sydney was performing with her dance team..Mom and dad came with us and we went to dinner and then on to the festival..sydney was cute she was soo worried that we were not going to be there on time and she kept asking at dinner if she was late (Like mother like daughter) :-) she did a good job. I told her is she got nervous and forgot part of the dance that she needed to look to the girl in front of her and copy her and she did :-).. She really likes dance and it getting better with each performance.
Well I hope all is well with everyone and it will be nice to be together this Christmas season.

Look... It's a bird..It's a plane...NO it is FINALLY a New Blog!!!

Well, This blog will probably be a short one and then we will post another one with pictures and things later. It is UEA today, Friday and Monday and so the kids are not in school for a few days and I have a few minutes until they want to start getting ready and going places. I will give you a quick rundown of our happenings.
First off..BIG NEWS!! Garrett is starting to walk!! It is so cute. He stands himself up and slowly takes his first steps..it is so fun when they start to discover all the things that they can do.
Sydney is doing well in school and is enjoying first grade, she loves her dance class and has found that she really likes playing soccer.
Ashley has had a lot of fun in preschool and her teacher says that she is very helpful in her class..she just went on her first field trip this last tuesday to the pumpkin patch and was able to get her very own pumpkin that she proudly shows everyone when they come over.
Mike is doing good..he is busy with work, right now is a busy time of year for their company and so he has a lot of projects in the works but enjoys it..he is busy with scouting and will be going on a scout campout friday-saturday with our ward.
I am just busy being a Mom running the kids around and being involved in Young Womans wich takes a lot of time but I enjoy it. I also had a lot of fun when I went to Ohio and will post the pictures at a later date.

School, Camping, and Birthday's Oh My!

Hello!! It has been awhile since we have blogged so here is our update about our family I hope that you enjoy the pictures as well.

Let's start with Garrett's birthday! As you all know we rented a camp trailer and went up to Current Creek. It was very beautiful up there and nice and cool!! Everyone had a great time and we all had fun!! Poor Ann though, she started to get sick on Friday night. When we woke up on Saturday morning, it was Garrett's Birthday!! The Big Numero Uno!!!! What better way to spend your first birthday!!! After we got up and gave Garrett his presents we had to drive back to Heber to get Ann some Medicine so that she could feel better! After that we made our way back up to our camp site!! It was a beautiful drive!! When we got back, we just hung out and played games and cooked dinner and made smores over the camp fire!! It was great!!! The Ericksen's First Family Campout!!!! As you can probably tell by the picture that this is the only way that Ann will go camping with me....but hey!! I don't mind!!! We stayed dry when it rained and we also stayed warm when it got down below freezing!!! So after all, I really didn't mind either!!

Also it was Sydney and Ashley's first day of school!! Sydney now goes all day to first grade! She loves her teacher, Mrs. Gardner. She is a really great teacher! Sydney likes her a lot! Everyday she comes home and fills us in on what she did that day! Its so neat to see the excitement that all little kids have when they get to learn new and exciting things!

Ashley is going to pre-school this year! She is so excited to go! She goes on Tuesday's and Thursday's. She is so funny! She so badly wants to be just like her older sister and do all that she does! Before you know it she will be!!

Well that's all that has really been going on around here! Ann can't wait to get out to Ohio to see Marisa and Kelsey! And I'm sure that I can't wait until she get's home!! :) Until next time!!

All about the kids!!

This blog is going to update a few things about the kids so I hope that you will enjoy the tid-bits of information on them. ..brought to you by Ann (the proud parent :-)
I will first start with cute Sydney: School will be starting for Sydney tomorrow (wednesday) and today we went to her school to meet her first grade teacher ( Mrs. Gardner). I am very impressed with her and Sydney is really excited to start. I could tell that she was a little nervous about making sure she will know where everything is but, I reassured her that she will do fine and her teacher will be there to help. At her school they let the parents eat lunch with the kids and so I am going to go tomorrow with one of my friends Wendi that also has a first grader and eat lunch with our kids. Sydney is excited about that. Sydney has been wanting to review all her letters, math, reading etc. so that she will be well prepared. I have to say that I am sad to let her go all day..I know that it will be nice to have just two kids at home but sydney is such a help to me and I will miss her during the day. She has also been getting ready for soccer. She went to her first practice last week and has found that she is going to really like soccer. Her and I went school shopping last week for clothes and I have found that it already matters what you wear in first grade. She would see something and say "megan wore that, I want one also" etc.. (see what you have to look forward to..with the girls :-) But overall school shopping was a success and she had to come home and model all of her clothes for Mike and the kids. And she already has her outfit picked out and ready to go (HMM.. I wonder where she gets that from?)
Now for Ashley: Cute little Ashley, is also excited to start school. I have enrolled her in a preschool that she will start the day after Labor Day it is two days a week. She just wants to be just like Sydney and cannot wait to start school. I will be taking her to an open house next thursday and we will meet her teacher. She likes to try and write her name and write the alphabet just like sydney. I am excited for her to go to school becuase that is all she talks about. She loves to sing and tumble around the house. She will be starting tumbling in a few weeks and cannot wait. I am trying to find activities that will fill her day full because she will really miss sydney while she is gone.
Onto Garrett: Our sweet boy is going to turn 1 on Saturday..which I can hardly believe. He is soo fun! and has just a happy disposition. I will enjoy the two days a week that I get to spend with him by myself. He is starting to stand by himself and loves to walk with the help of the furniture. He really does not show an interest in walking just yet but he is probably the worlds fastest crawler. Mike and I are amazed at how fast he can cruise through the house. It is fun to see the differences between boys and girls. Garrett love to stand on the couch and throw all is toys over the back and say "uh oh" as he throws each one over and laughs.. he also loves to growl.
Well that it a little bit about the kids. We will send another update next week with pictures. We are going to go on our first family campout ever this weekend. (call Ripley's) Mike has rented a trailer so I could consent to go and not sleep on the ground in a tent. We will be gone friday afternoon through Sunday...it should be fun!! We love you all!!
